Rim to Highline Day Hike

the hike Wild, expansive vistas await us on this leisurely walk along the Mogollon Rim and down to Two Sixty Trailhead. Start on the Rim Vista Trail, then bail out at the Military Sinkhole to make our way down to the junction where the Highline Trail begins. Come prepared for sunshine, clouds, pleasant breezes, and inspiring scenery of the Zane Grey country.

meet 7:00 AM in the parking lot of the Target Center on the south side of Shea Blvd., about a mile west of Highway 87 (Beeline). For those leaving their cars behind, please park up against the north curb away from Target.
drive Take the Beeline Highway (Arizona 87) north to Payson. Turn right on Arizona 260 and drive east past Kohls Ranch to the Two Sixty Trailhead. It's on the left side of the highway, before you get to the top.
We’ll leave one car at Two Sixty Trailhead, where the hike ends. Go back to highway 260, turn left and drive to the top of the Mogollon Rim. Take the first left turn, on FR 300, and drive west 1/4 mile to Rim Top Trailhead, where the hike begins.
camp The Rim Campground is just west of the Rim Top Trailhead.
If you camp there overnight, please notify the hike leader and be at Rim Top Trailhead by 9:00 AM to meet us.
