The warm weather trend continued this week so the trip was changed to be a 8 mile out and back hike instead of carpooling to Baragman tank park and hiking back. This allowed the group of 6 hikers to get an earlier start and enjoy cooler temperatures and the slight breeze as we hiked through the ponderosa forest which provided intermittent shade. The hike started out missing 2 hikers who had taken a wrong turn on the drive up from the valley but they were fast hikers and caught up to the group as we started back to the trailhead after a water and snack break at the 4 mile turn around point. Even though the weather was warmer than normal it was a beautiful day to be hiking on this little used trail and be out on part of the Arizona Trail system.
