| the hike |
We are hoping to see some great wildflowers on this hike, at least in past
years there have been good reports from this trail. This is a loop hike.
Starting at the Go John Trailhead we’ll take that trail to the Jasper
Spur, and take Jasper to Slate. Follow Slate for 0.6 miles then
turn north on Quartz trail, then take Quartz to the Go John Trail.
Follow Go John around the mountain back to the trailhead.
Overall hike will be about 7 miles.
Required: • Sturdy hiking boots • At least 3 liters of water • Rain poncho • Hat, sunblock, sunglasses Recommended: • Lunch or snacks • Camera |

There is a $6 Cave Creek Regional Park entrance fee payable per car. Sharing gas expenses with the driver. The club also allows voluntary contributions of $5 per non-member. |

| meet | 7:00 AM at the Go John Trailhead or 6:45 AM at the Walmart on Cave Creek and Carefree Highway. This Walmart is on the right if you are coming north on Cave Creek Road. Park in the NW corner and we will car pool to the Cave Creek Recreational Area. |

• From central Phoenix, take I-17 north to the Carefree Highway (SR 74). • Travel east on the Carefree Highway 6.8 miles to 32nd Street. • Turn left (north) on 32nd Street, which turns into Cave Creek Park Road. • Pay the park entrance fee and continue driving to Go John Trailhead. Water and restrooms are available. Alternative route: • Go north on Cave Creek Road or Scottsdale Road to Carefree Hwy and go west. • Follow Carefree Highway to N 32nd Street. See Map. |
