Andrew Kinsey Trail to Hitching Post Day Hike
We’ll do 1st of group photos and set off ar 7:15 AM. This is a well maintained easy to moderate grade with largely smooth crushed granite trail surface. The trail is mostly undulating ups and downs, no steep climbs, unless you go beyond the Hitching Post to the Sunrise Peak summit. The Fountain Hills segment of this hike (from the trailhead) is less than a mile. There will be a sign that says you are leaving Fountain Hills and entering Scottsdale. At that point, we are in The Scottsdale Mountain Preserve where the trail continues for >2 miles with 214' of elevation change and is rated moderately difficult.
Scenery is beautiful: nice views, but some believe it’s compromised by the expanding urban footprint in the area. See map below:

| • | Adero Canyon Trailhead is at 14800 N. Eagle Ridge Drive, Fountain Hills. |
| • | From Shea Boulevard turn onto Palisades Boulevard. |
| • | Go a mile to Eagle Ridge Drive (sign on left (Copperwynd side), ***sign on right says Promenade***) turn towards Eagle Ridge). |
| • | Go 2.3 miles to the trailhead (all the way to the end). If you follow the Directions in your map program, it might take you to a gated community... if you turn as mentioned above, you should have no problems. Restroom available. |
