Hikers start descending below Midgley Bridge, spanning Oak Creek.

Due to a predicted high of 104° for Sedona, the Wilson Mountain hike was changed to Huckaby Trail.

We started at Midgley Bridge and took the Huckaby Trail down the canyon wall to Oak Creek Canyon.

First view of Oak Creek.

The trail continued along the creek for a ways and then ascended a hillside which appeared to have been burned a few years ago.

This provided some great views of Sedona.

Cool and inviting!
water
Oak Creek cascades and churns over large boulders in its path.

We continued to the trailhead parking lot and then turned around. As we were walking back to the creek for lunch, it began to get warmer. Luckily before the heat overtook us, we arrived at the creek to soak our feet and eat lunch.

After lunch it was only a short hike up the canyon wall to our cars.
