We meet at Home Depot and drove out to the old railroad from Superior to Florance. The first place we stopped a sheriff deputy stopped and told us that there were practice shooters where we where going to walk. We moved down the road pasted the shooters. This area has become a target range, so this is the last time I will lead a hike here. After we got out of range of the gun fire, this was a nice peaceful hike.
The Queen Valley was very green from all the rain we have had. This railroad was built at the being of WW I and was in use until the end of WW II. It moved a lot of copper for both war efforts. It has not been used for many years after WW II. There was some wildlife out. There were a couple of rattlesnakes just sunning them selfs.
We hiked out on the old railroad and returned on the old dirt US 60 to our car. This way we skipped the rattlesnakes.
