October 23 – By Robert Plowman
This day dawned heavily overcast, with only a thin strip of clear sky to the east. Rain started as we were making breakfast, forcing some of us to retreat to an overhang at the edge of our campsite.

The rain created a small creek next to Lin tent.

Small waterfall is cleaning the pan.

Frying bacon and eggs under the overhanging rock before the hike. After the rain let up, we heard the sound of falling water. Tracking the sound to its source, we found a waterfall and a picnic table hidden behind thick shrubs. Unfortunately, the picnic table was directly under the waterfall.

SR04
A perfect spot for raining day.

After breakfast, we all went to the park visitor center to check the weather report. Since more rain was forecast, we decided to do a short hike nearby, the Slickrock Trail.

SR05
A beautiful view.

This trail was only 2.4 miles long, but we accidently extended it when we followed a false set of cairns across the slickrock.

SR06
Between the rain, the sky is beautiful.

About halfway through the hike we noticed dark clouds moving in from the south. We hurried back to our vehicles, reaching them just as the rain began to fall.
