The hike today was filled with members of 2 hiking clubs: AZTB & NMVC. 15 eager hikers met at the Peavine TH, paid the $3.00 fee at the gate and then reassembled at the beginning of the Peavine Trail, Vicki took the group photo and then we headed North on Peavine.
After a short walk, Watson Lake came into view and we started watching for the Great Blue Herron who usually welcomes us on this trail. No sightings today that I know of, so perhaps he's hiding with the Eagle we sometimes see gliding overhead. After 1.3 mi we turned right through a gate and up a short incline to enter the fanciful trail system called Storm Trails.
Big white dots on the boulders guide us up and down on a series of loops with many view points and photo ops. We stopped for a short snack break and continued bumping around the area until exiting the trails just a little north of the entry gate. We then followed the Peavine back for 1.5 miles to the parking.
