where Goldfield Mountains
the hike     Start on Forest Road 10, the dirt road south from Blue Point Trailhead, and follow it 1½ miles to the place where a tributary flows into Bulldog Canyon from the east. Here the bushwhacking begins. Leave the road, cross Bulldog Canyon, and continue east another mile and a half over rolling hills until we come to the steep, rocky canyon that flows down from Peak 3192.
Yes, this is an arch hunt. First time I was there we saw the elusive Overlook Arch, but sadly, didn’t photograph it. Who knows what else we’ll find?
Complete the loop by bushwhacking over bajadas of the rugged northwest Goldfields, then walk the Jeep trail along the river, back to Blue Point Trailhead.
Long pants and long sleeves recommended. Bring your camera.
