Dave, Bill, Sandy and I had a beautiful day of hiking part of the Arizona Trail. We started out around 9:30 AM with an extra layer of clothing as it was windy and chilly, albeit sunny.

It didn't take us long to warm up as we started out on the trail.

This part of the Arizona Trail was easy to follow, fairly flat with a few ups and downs through ponderosa pines and by a cattle pond named “Hay Meadow”.

We crossed over several forest roads including FR 211 and made it to our turnaround point of FR 82 where we stopped and had lunch before heading back.

Part of the trail was former forest road that had grown over which made it easy walking.

Which way does the trail go from here?

Making it back to our car by 2:30 PM we decided to check out the Blue Ridge Reservoir before stopping for dinner in Payson.

Just another refreshing day of hiking in the great outdoors of Arizona!
