February 28, 2022. We had a very nice day for our Silly Mountain Park hike.

It is a rocky trail and a bit hard to follow at the top and on the east side. A few dead ends. We enjoyed the challenge. The highest altitude is 2126 ft and our gain was about 600'. We hiked 3.5 miles.

Junette, who led the group, made her five minute spiel about ham radios, their relevance in today’s world, and explained the repeater systems in Arizona. We made contact right away with a fellow on the Ocotillo repeater (449.325 PL tone 100).

2nd choice would have been the Usery repeater (447.650 Pl Tone 186.2). Is anyone else interested in being Radio-active?

T’was a Great Day!
