Weaver’s Needle Loop Day Hike

where	Superstition Wilderness
the hike	This hike will do a 360 loop around Weaver’s Needle. It is one of the signature sights in the Superstitions Mountains. Bring your camera, because on this hike you can get up close and personal with Weaver’s Needle. There will be plenty of different sights on this trail.     We will have lunch at the head waters of Boulder Creek, which may have water in it. Boulder Creek runs all the way to Canyon Lake on the other side of the Superstitions. We’ll do this hike in a semi-clockwise direction around Weaver’s. There are many possible side trails, but they are away from the Needle. At each major trail junction, make a left turn. There is one side trail that goes to the base of the Needle that the climbers use. We will hike this trail clockwise.     We may get some shade on the Peralta as we return from the Superstitions. Weaver’s will be in the sun at all times.  See Map. You will need:  •  at least 3 liters of water  •  good hiking boots  •  sunscreen  •  flashlight  •  snacks and camera  •  smiling faces and ready to climb!

meet	6:10 AM at Home Depot in Mesa on the SE corner of Power and US 60. Our goal is to start the hike at dawn, 7:00 AM.
drive	•  Take US 60 east to milepost 204. • Turn left, following the signs for Peralta Trailhead. • Continue on this road to the end. The last few miles will be a good dirt road that cars should have no problem with. • We will start on the Bluff Spring Trail and end on the Peralta trail. Both trails start from this parking lot. • 25 miles from Home Depot to Peralta Trailhead (50 round trip).
