Palomino Mountain Day Hike
when Trip Report : February 13, 2016
where Superstition Wilderness
the hike     Starting at First Water Trailhead, we’ll head out on the Dutchman’s Trail about 4 miles before turning to go a half mile up a creek bed. From there we do the hardest work of the hike, heading 600 feet up a very steep half mile to the top. Please bring hiking poles! On the way up we’ll have incredible views of Aylor’s Arch.
At the top we’ll sign our names in the book in a mail box, while enjoying some of the best panoramic views of the Superstitions. Anyone more adventuresome can climb the short, but heart-pounding distance out on one of the spurs to get closer to the arch. Return by the same route.
