| the hike |
For this walk in the sky we’ll climb Gateway Canyon to gain the high
ground, then hike the north skyline of the Goldfields to a series of
spectacular overviews of the river and canyon country.
Along the way we’ll encounter glorious rock formations, colorful and
prickly Sonoran vegetation, arches, rocky slopes, and mountain vistas with
a fresh perspective.
Long pants, long sleeves, and gloves recommended. Bring your camera. This hike is described in Goldfield Mountain Hikes by Ted Tenny, Gem Guides, Upland, CA, 2006, pages 70-74. |
