For this walk in the sky we’ll climb Gateway Canyon to gain the
high ground, then hike the north skyline of the Goldfields to a series of
spectacular overviews of the river and canyon country.
Along the way we’ll encounter glorious rock formations, colorful
and prickly Sonoran vegetation, arches, rocky slopes, and mountain
vistas with a fresh perspective.
Long pants, long sleeves, and gloves recommended.
Bring your camera.

8:00 AM at Blue Point Trailhead, on the Bush Highway near the Salt River. |

Directions from Phoenix on the Red Mountain Freeway (Loop 202):

exit 23A (Power Road) |
• |
Turn left and go north on Power, which becomes the Bush Highway.

Continue east on the Bush Highway past Usery Pass Road [stop sign].
|
• |
Park at the trailhead, which is on the right side
of the road 1.9 miles past the stop sign.
If you get to the bridge, turn around and go back 1/3 mile.
