North Goldfield Skyline Day Hike

where Goldfield Mountains
the hike     For this walk in the sky we’ll climb Gateway Canyon to gain the high ground, then hike the north skyline of the Goldfields to a series of spectacular overviews of the river and canyon country. Along the way we’ll encounter glorious rock formations, colorful and prickly Sonoran vegetation, arches, rocky slopes, and mountain vistas with a fresh perspective.
    Long pants, long sleeves, and gloves recommended. Bring your camera.

meet 8:00 AM at Blue Point Trailhead, on the Bush Highway near the Salt River.
drive Directions from Phoenix on the Red Mountain Freeway (Loop 202):
•  exit 23A (Power Road)
Turn left and go north on Power, which becomes the Bush Highway.
Continue east on the Bush Highway past Usery Pass Road [stop sign].
Park at the trailhead, which is on the right side of the road 1.9 miles past the stop sign. If you get to the bridge, turn around and go back 1/3 mile.
