| the hike |
This is a wildly scenic "B" hike! Massive, colorful volcanic buttes rise
vertically from the top of Bulldog Ridge, separated by strangely smooth saddles
offering awesome views at all angles.
Thread your way around the buttes, follow the ridge to a saddle north of hill 2538,
then continue cross country to the pass.
Along the way you’ll have glorious slickrock, colorful and prickly vegetation,
steep, rocky slopes, and mountain vistas with a fresh perspective. Long pants, long sleeves, and gloves recommended. Bring your camera. This hike is described in Goldfield Mountain Hikes by Ted Tenny, Gem Guides, 2006, pages 35-38. |
