the hike |
This is an out and back 7.6 mile hike which I have never been on before,
so for me, it is exploratory.
We will start out on the trail from the men’s restroom (yes, the
men’s restroom) at the Visitor’s Center for 1.8 miles where
we will actually reach the trail to Seven Falls.
It takes another 2.5 miles to reach Seven Falls.
There will be seven crossings over Sabino Creek so it is possible that
you will get your feet wet.
When the creek is dry, the footing is stable at most of the crossing
points, but when water is present, it can be more challenging.
The seventh creek crossing comes shortly after some big boulders.
The trail rises up a switchback to the sign for Bear Canyon Trail #29
which continues on. A short side trail takes you down to Seven Falls.
Hikers are rewarded with several pools of water to relax by and wade
in during most of the year.
