This is a moderate day hike on the East Side of the Santa Catalina
Mountains that will carry the hiker through a variety of scenery,
including canyon country, lush riparian habitat, forests of oak,
pine, and fir, chaparral thickets of Manzanita and nolina, and
commanding views of valleys, mountain ranges, and the endlessly
fascinating granite rock formations of the Santa Catalina Range,
as we hike from the General Hitchcock Picnic Area to the San Pedro
Vista, 3.8 miles uphill, and return along the same route.
Required: • Sturdy hiking boots • At least 3 liters of water • Rain poncho • Hat, sunblock, sunglasses Recommended: • Lunch or snacks • Camera |
