Black Canyon Trail Day Hike

the hike     Come join me to burn some calories. The Black Canyon City trailhead is at rdge of Black Canyon City and the trail winds through Black Canyon. This trail is below I-17 in the canyon bottom. We should be back at the cars before night, doing a leisurely pace.
    We will stop to eat the snack at our turn a round point. Some parts of this hike may be exploration. Where the Black Canyon trail crosses the Agua Fria it maybe washed out, so we may have to find the trail. This trail follows in places the old wagon road that leads from Black Canyon City to Prescott.
    One note no mining gear may be taken on this hike. There are active gold mines beside the trail and some of those miners can be difficult if it looks like you are stealing from them.
Required:
•  Sturdy hiking boots
•  At least 2 liters of water
•  Hat, sunblock, sunglasses

Recommended:
•  Camera
•  Hiking pole(s)
•  Dry socks and shoes, if the Agua Fria River is flowing

meet 8:00 AM in the McDonald’s carefree off I -17 at 3140 W Carefree Hwy, Phoenix, AZ 85086..
We will leave promptly at 8:05 AM.
drive
•  The trailhead is well marked just off Warner Rd in Black Canyon City
Take I-17 north to the Rock Springs exit. Cross the freeway. Turn right onto Old Black Canyon Hwy. Turn left on to Warner Rd.
Follow Warner Rd to the trail head.
All roads are paved. There are no water at the trailhead, but there is restrooms.
