Pine-Geronimo Day Hike
when Saturday, September 3, 2016
  Trip Report : October 27, 2012
where Pine
the hike     Highline Trail was established in 1870. We will hike the Geronimo to Pine segment of this trail. This is also the Arizona Trail passage 27. The Highline Trail runs just below the rim, so it has many great views of the Verde River Valley. At the start of hike we have to cross Weber Creek, so you may get your feet wet. Some tree may be starting to change color, but this maybe a little early for the full color change. Late summer flowers will be out, depend on now the summer rains have gone. We will have lunch beside one of the many springs that are on this segment of the trail. After lunch when the trail runs part of the way up to Milk Ranch Point, we will have good vistas of the Verde Valley. At all times on this hike the 1,000 feet of the Mogollon Rim will be in sight to our north.
If you are trying to do all of the Arizona Trail, this hike will add to your total.
A camera and hiking poles are highly recommended, in addition to the usual hiking gear.
