Beaver Canyon Loop Day Hike

where Mogollon Rim
the hike     Cool pines are calling. See attached route.
    After a semi-steep descent into the canyon, the hike alternates between animal trails and easy creek crossings. If we are lucky we my see some elk. Bill had pre hiked to “B7B”, however, we will continue to “B9B” where we try to exit the canyon. Once on top we are in and out of pines following the remnants of an old road back to FR 300.

meet 6:30 AM in the parking lot of the Target Center on the south side of Shea Blvd., about a mile west of Highway 87 (Beeline). For those leaving their cars behind, please park up against the northwest curb away from Starbuck’s.
drive
•  Take the Beeline Highway (Arizona 87) north to Payson.
Turn right and go east on Arizona 260.
Drive east 29 miles, past Kohls Ranch to the top of the Mogollon Rim.
Take the first left turn, on FR 300.
Go northwest 12 miles to Beaver Canyon Trailhead, where the hike begins.
