the hike	A portion of the Happy Jack Passage is being realigned off of an old road to a new single track trail. The Arizona Trailblazers can help by working one day on the trail as our gift back to this wonderful resource that we use extensively. On this day, we will work on the portion near Bargaman Park which is just off FR 294.     I led a hike on this section on June 23, 2018. Those of us doing the northbound hike got a little off trail because the AZT followed an old road, then departed onto a single track and there was insufficient signage. This is a good opportunity to help correct that by realigning the trail off the road completely. Come contribute to the trail system that we have all enjoyed for free for so long.     The AZT will provide the tools and supervision, we provide the brawn. They will provide hard hats and gloves (or you can bring your own). I have done quite a lot of trail work over the years and it is fun, educational and very satisfying with the knowledge that you are helping to provide the trails we all enjoy. Bring your hiking pack with plenty of water and your lunch. We will hike from an access point to the work site, so you will get a hike in as well. Required: •  Sturdy hiking boots •  Work gloves •  At least 3 liters of water •  Rain poncho •  Hat, sunblock, sunglasses •  Lunch Recommended: •  Camera

meet	6:30 AM in the parking lot of Target Center on the south side of Shea Blvd., about a mile west of Highway 87 (Beeline). For those leaving their cars behind, please park up against the northernmost curb facing Shea Blvd. opposite the Target store.
drive	•  Take Shea Blvd east to SR 87 and turn left. • Drive north on SR 87 through Payson, Pine and Strawberry. • Continue past Clint’s Well and turn left on Lake Mary Road. • We meet the AZT supervision crew at the Happy Jack Ranger Station located on the left. • From there, continue north on Lake Mary Road to FR 294 and turn right and go about 3 miles. This is the same road we took to the NB starting point on June 23.
