Arizona Trailblazers Hiking Club
Schultz Creek Loop Day Hike

when? Trip Report : August 8, 2009
where? Flagstaff
the hike     We’ll walk up on the easy Schultz Creek Trail, dodging the bicycles, continue on an abandoned road to the remote and scenic Dry Lake Hills before making our descent on the Brookbank Trail. From there the Rocky Ridge Trail is an easy return to the trailhead.
This rocky path over rolling terrain leads through a forest of ponderosa pines interspersed with stunted Gambel oaks and gnarled alligator junipers. There will be cool forests, a respectable climb, and places along the trail to observe a variety of wildlife ranging from elk and mule deer to blue grouse and goshawks.
