the hike |
This mostly downhill hike will take us from Sunset Trailhead to
Buffalo Park by way of the Dry Lake Hills and the western slopes of
Mount Elden. Along the way we’ll pass through ever-changing life
zones of the Coconino National Forest, with many fine panoramic views.
This hike is described in Footloose from Phoenix by Ted Tenny, pages 280-285. The Oldham Trail is described on pages 182-183 of Flagstaff Hikes by Richard & Sherry Mangum, 5th edition, Hexagon Press, 2001. |
