where Superstition Wilderness
the hike     I have chosen a hike along the Coffee Flat Trail to Whitlow Canyon—home to a mesquite forest and an old ranch. If time and weather permit, we could venture further on the trail to Reed’s Water, where possible water and and a windmill awaits.
From Peralta Trailhead, hike north up the Peralta Trail for less than 200 feet to the junction with the Dutchman’s Trail (#104). Head east toward Miners Needle, gently ascending around a series of small hills and rises. Continue in a northeast direction through Barkley Basin for about two miles until we reach the junction with Coffee Flat Trail (#108). Here we strike out in a southeast direction toward Coffee Flat and Reed’s Water, an abandoned windmill.
