Geronimo Cave Day Hike

where Superstition Mountains
the hike Geronimo never slept here, but we’ll reach the cave on the Bluff Spring Trail and the Cave Trail, then continue north to a wildly scenic overlook of upper Barks Canyon, East Boulder Canyon, and Weaver’s Needle. On our way up we’ll climb Cardiac Hill. Some poeple do the large slickrock and boulders of Devil’s Slide on all fours. Visit Chimney Rock, the Devil’s Slide, and many spectacular formations resulting from Tertiary volcanism.
    From there we will walk to Fremont saddle to Peralta Trailhead. At the saddle, we enjoy spectacular views of Weaver’s Needle. Return by the Peralta Canyon trail.
    This is a rugged and beautiful loop hike in the southwest Superstition Mountains.
    Starting at Peralta Trailhea, we will do CCW loop start at Bluff Springs to Geronimo Cave then to Fremont Saddle to Peralta Trail to finish the hike. At the saddle, we enjoy spectacular views of Weaver’s Needle.
    Please wear sturdy boots with good traction and bring a hat, poles, plenty of water, lunch and snacks. Dressing in layers is advised.

meet 8:00 AM in the Home Depot parking lot east of Burger King, 6830 E. Superstition Springs Blvd, Mesa. From there, we can carpool to Peralta Trailhead.
