Arizona Trailblazers Hiking Club
Fountain Hills Hike & Tour Day Hike
when Trip Report : March 8, 2022
where Fountain Hills
the hike     What an elegant town this is! Free parking & bathrooms. Great for newbies too. We will meet behind the strip mall on corner of El Lago Blvd. and N. Saguaro Blvd., by the lake. We will then take the Fountain Hills Overlook Trail - 1.8 miles (on ALLTrails), 200 ft elevation change.
This trail goes up a hill behind the lake for amazing views of the town, McDowell Mountains, Golden Mountains of Tonto National Forest, and Red Mountain.
Boots are better than sneakers for this one. We will extend the hike around the lake and walk on their prettiest streets. We will walk by the community center and the museum, too. Beautiful sculptures are everywhere. The River of Time Museum is open on Tuesdays if anyone wants to stay longer.
