| the hike |
A swashbuckling hike between Stewart Mountain and the Salt River
will take you north on the historic Heber-Reno Sheep Driveway past
the Goldfield Oven, east across the slopes of Stewart Mountain, south
on a ridge with many spectacular views and through Horse Thief Wash
before turning west to the trailhead. Come prepared for amazing rock
formations, wildlife, prickly vegetation, and who knows what else
we’ll find on this exploratory hike.
This hike is described in Footloose from Phoenix by Ted Tenny, pages 109-115. |
