Horns of a Dilemma Day Hike
when Trip Report : March 15, 2008
where Goldfield Mountains
the hike     Volcanism of the Miocene epoch left us the Apache Gap rhyodacite and intricate formations of the eastern Goldfields. On this lighthearted off-trail hike we’ll climb peak 2881, highest point in the eastern Goldfields, for a dandy view of the mountains on all sides. Then troop the ridge north to a remote region with a fresh perspective. Along the way we’ll have gorgeous slickrock, steep, rocky slopes, bright lichens, the Horns of a Dilemma, and prickly plants aplenty.
This hike is described in Goldfield Mountain Hikes by Ted Tenny, pages 129-131.
