| the hike |
On this wilderness excursion we’ll visit the upper reaches of Bulldog
Canyon in the Tonto National Forest. The trail features outstanding views
of Peak 3269, Bulldog Ridge, Pyroclastic Cave, the Mask Arches, and the
southern skyline of the Goldfield Mountains in a region of colorful Sonoran
vegetation and wildlife.
At hill 2315 you’ll have a choice: right or left. Turn left and return
through a side canyon and Forest Road 10, or turn right and bushwhack
through some more of rocky Bulldog Canyon, then return on the Deer Tanks
Trail and the Wolverine Pass Trail.
See Map.
Part of this hike is described on pages 31-32 of
Goldfield Mountain Hikes
by Ted Tenny, with a map on page 149.
