| the hike |
This will be an out and back hike on the Holbert Trail to Dobbins Lookout. We will gain 997 feet in 2 miles for expansive
views of the park and the city.
There's also a restroom at the lookout and there might still be vendors selling jewelry and pottery.
This is the best South Mountain trail for petroglyph views,
and has a great mixture of scenery and grade.
It’s a great hike for exercise, since the first portion of the
trail is relatively flat, and steadily climbs uphill but isn’t
all that steep. The view along the trail is nice.
We can see the city of Phoenix and surroundings at Dobbins Lookout
