This is a scenic hike in the pines following Horton Creek. There are many photo ops along this trail with lots of small
waterfalls (if there is water) The Fall colors should be abundant and maybe wild flowers too. The ascent is gradual. Bring gas money to
pay the drivers and bring a lunch or snack. This will be our longest hike and longest day away from the valley.

7:00 AM in the parking lot of the
Target Center on the south side of Shea Blvd., about a mile west
of Highway 87 (Beeline). For those leaving their cars behind, please
park up against the north curb away from Target.

From Payson drive about 15 miles east on Highway 260. |

Turn left (north) onto Tonto Creek Road (FR289). |

Travel a mile north to the Horton Springs parking lot. |
