Arizona Trailblazers Hiking Club
Little Elden Loop Day Hike
when Trip Report : September 23, 2017
where Flagstaff
the hike     In August, Tom, Billie, a few others and I hiked this trail based on information in Bruce Grubbs book, Hiking Northern Arizona. The hike consisted of Little Elden (also AZT), Heart, Sunset, and Little Bear trails.
The book says 6.9 miles but we found it to be 10.5 miles. Some of it is through a burn area, so we believe the Little Bear Trail was rerouted and lengthened considerably. But it is a nice hike and worthy of the hearty Arizona Trailblazers.
I plan to do the hike counterclockwise, so we would do Little Elden, Little Bear, Sunset, Heart, and back to Little Elden.
