Hike 1 Fri Oct 2, 2026 Four Peaks Wilderness, Tonto National Forest Hike 2 Sat Oct 3, 2026 Pine AZ, Tonto National Forest Hike 3 Sun Oct 4, 2026 Beeline Hwy 87, Sycamore Creek, Tonto National Forest Hike 1 Fri Oct 2 6:30AM Depart Kiva parking lot TAV Peoria and drive to Shea Blvd Target (Brown Hike) 7:30AM Depart from Shea Bvd Target and drive to Four Peaks Staging Area El Oso Road 8:00AM Depart Staging Area and drive on El Oso Road #143 to Rd #648 to Pigeon Spring (high clearance needed, not 4 wheel) 9:30AM Hike Rd #648 to Brown Peak trail to Brown Peak, then back on Brown Peak trail to Amethyst trail to Four Peaks trail #130, then Four Peaks trail to trail #134 then trail #134 to Pigeon Spring to complete the loop. 1:00PM Depart Pigeon Spring and drive Rd #648 to El Oso Rd #143 and go East on El Oso Rd to Rt 188, then take Rt 188 to Rt 87 to Payson. 3:00PM Check in at Super 8 by Wyndham Hotel 928-474-5241 809 Hwy 260 Payson or other lodging of your choice 5:30PM Dinner at Chili 900 Rt 87 Payson 928-468-7036 Hike 2 Saturday 8:30AM Depart hotel for Pine Trailhead Rt #260 Pine (Highline Trail hike) 10-03 9:00AM Hike Highline trail #31 to Red Rock Spring and back to the trailhead 3:00PM Depart trailhead for hotel 5:30PM Dinner at Fargo’s Steakhouse Rt 260 928-474-7455 Hike 3 Sunday 8:30AM Depart hotel for Bushnell Tanks Trailhead Rt 87 (Sycamore Creek hike) 9:30AM Hike from the trailhead to the AZ trail and then East along the trail and along Sycamore Creek to Boulder Creek and to a turn around point somewhere between 2 and 3 miles out and then return to the trailhead. All hikes include portions on the AZNST as well as some connecting trails. Brown Peak is the highest elevation point in the Phoenix area. The Highline Trail climbs a portion of the Mogollon Rim. Sycamore Creek trail is an easy final hike for the day we ride home. Please review the details for any changes you consider would improve the agenda and let me know by Sep 1.
