the hike |
This hike will cover most of the conservation area with the main attraction being
Elephant Mountain. The Elephant Mountain Trail will be exploratory for me.
We will start on the Spur Cross trail to the Tortuga trail up to Elephant Mountain Trail.
The trail will take us in and out of some washes and up some steep climbs before we
reach some ruins.
The views are said to be splendid. After descending Elephant Mountain we will continue
on the Spur Cross trail to the edge of the conservation area and then turn back to
complete the loop around the park via the Spur Cross trail and the Dragonfly trail
through the Jewel of the Creek Preserve.
