| the hike |
Peak 3108 offers spectacular views of the southern high country of the
Goldfields and the colorful Bulldog Canyon wilderness. Climb to the peak
by way of Bulldog Saddle and take a walk on the wild side as you traverse
the ridgeline. Bail out into Bulldog Canyon to finish the hike amid colorful
Miocene lava flows in the saguaro-palo verde forest. Long pants, long sleeves, and gloves recommended. Bring your camera. This hike is described in Goldfield Mountain Hikes by Ted Tenny, Gem Guides, Baldwin Park, CA, 2006, pages 39-43. |

7:00 AM in Red Mountain Park located at 7745 E. Brown Rd. in east Mesa (south
side of Brown Road just east of Power Road). Directions from the Red Mountain Freeway (Loop 202): • exit 26 (Brown Road) • Go west on Brown a half mile to the light at Sterling Dr. • Turn left at Sterling into the park. Then take the first left into the Palo Brea parking lot. |
