But for now, here is a brief summary of the Hatch Rafting Trip, Sept 15 - Sept 28, 2025. Campsite: Please book your own raft spot with Hatch River Expeditions - Grand Canyon Whitewater Rafting 800-856-8966, Please book your spot as soon as possible, they fill up fast. 3 trip options but calls now as openings are being taken. 6 days from Lee’s ferry to boast beach by Phantom Ranch and then hiking out Bright Angel Trail with guide (Hatch is cleared to hike closed portions of the trail with a Park Ranger). Please note that on the 6 day trip you to hike from the bottom to the top of the canyon. 7 days from Bright Angel trail hiking down Bright Angel Tail after meeting guide at 5am at Bright Angel Lodge to hike down to the boat breach on September 20. Or 12 day whole canyon trip. 1-2 guided hikes per day while on the Colorado River. Hikes are optional or can do a portion, vary form 1-2 miles to 6-8 miles depending on location on the river and weather. Get a dry bag for camp (along the river at a beach) and for day use on the raft. Separate bag for your trekking poles. Sleeping – on the beach with a cot and sleeping bag and tarp, tents available for rainy nights. Food – provided and prepared – the luxury part of the trip. If you like car camping and back packing – this trip is in between, but you don’t cook! You do help load the rafts (big ones holding 15 or so guests and crew and a lot of camping, cooking gear and food) in the morning and unload in the afternoon at camp. More information on the website or call them between 8-4 M-F. The views are spectacular, daytime of the canyon and night time of all the stars! Hiking in places you would have a very hard back pack to get to from the rim and some requiring canyoneering to get to, but accessible from the river. 1-2 guided hikes per day while on the Colorado River. Option 2, 7 days from Bright Angel trail hiking down Bright Angel Tail after meeting guide at 5am at Bright Angel Lodge to hike down to the boat beach. You must park in Parking lot D and walk to the lodge. Cars in the hotel lot will likely be towed. Helicopter and turbo prop plane back to the airport outside of the park.
