Arizona Trailblazers Hiking Club
Rim Trail Photographic Double-Header
Grand Canyon National Park
October 1-3, 2010

General Description:
Most Grand Canyon pictures are taken from the South Rim, usually from stops along the road. The 12-mile Rim Trail has many spectacular overlooks that no one ever sees from the road. Bring your camera! We’re going to hike the length of the Rim Trail in two stages: Grand Canyon Village to Hermits Rest on Saturday, October 2, and Pipe Creek Vista to Grand Canyon Village on Sunday, October 3. The grades are easy, and some parts of the trail are paved. A free shuttle takes visitors to both ends of the trail and many points in between.
For those preferring a tough hike down in the canyon: the Hermit Trail, Bright Angel Trail, and the South Kaibab Trail are easily accessible on the shuttle bus.
COST: Two nights’ lodging, depending on where you stay (see below)
+ $25 per Private Vehicle [unless you are over 62 and have a Senior Pass].
Admission to the National Park is good for seven days.
When car-pooling, pay your share the cost of gas. The club also allows voluntary contributions of $1/member or $3/non-member.
Hotel/Motel Accommodations: Reserve your campground or hotel. Book early.
