This camping trip description is certainly not final and may be subject to minor changes and adjustments during the trip itself depending on the weather or how things go.

Trip currently has one vacancy and the waiting list is empty. The Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness is America’s premier canoe destination. It is also one of the most accessible wilderness areas in the United States. Over one million acres in size, the Boundary Waters covers much of the Superior National Forest in northeastern Minnesota. Paddle among towering pines in the home of moose, lynx, wolves, and bald eagles.

We will use an outfitter, Wilderness Inquiry BWCA
to insure our adventure is the best it can be. Decades of experience in combination with top notch food and gear make Wilderness Inquiry BWCA trips an exceptional value. Our classic 5-day Boundary Waters Canoe Area Paddle Adventure is the quintessential guided canoe trip. Paddle lightweight Wenonah kevlar canoes and camp in beautiful lakeside campsites. (Paraphrased from the website.)

Most of us will fly into Minneapolis on September 9th and spend the night at the Holiday Inn Hotel near the airport. Holiday Inn Hotel
The outfitter will pick us up there on the 10th and take us to the launch site on Moose Lake, about 18 miles east of Ely, MN. The outfitter provides all equipment and food except sleeping bag. We will paddle through several connected lakes and finish the paddling on September 14th. The outfitter will shuttle us back to Minneapolis.

Weather
September is usually the best month for dry weather and fewest bugs.

As we get closer to the trip date, I will be sending out more detailed information to all trip participants. In the meantime, if you have any additional questions or concerns, please contact me:

Cost: Cost, including shuttle to and from hotel, is $1025. Airfare and hotel not included. A 20%, NON-refundable deposit is due to the outfitter upon signing the registration. Balance is due in July. Most of us will be flying in to Minneapolis.
